What is a Category 5 impact window?

Miami-Dade County Category 5 is a standard of Hurricane Protection issued by the state of Florida that requires the window to withstand multiple "large missile" impacts (such as coconuts, bricks, tree branches or other dangerous flying debris) and prevent that debris from entering the home. Once debris hits the window it must continue to protect the home even with winds in excess of 200 MPH. This is FAR superior to the less protective impact window known as Florida Approved Windows.

Do I have to choose between category 5 protection and energy efficiency?
